1. Scope
This policy covers the Full, On-device, and Community editions of Subtitles Sync Pro. Each edition translates subtitle or caption text displayed inside a supported video player.
2. Information processed
- Visible subtitle or caption text inside the player.
- Text explicitly selected by the user for translation or vocabulary.
- Source and target languages.
- Limited player state needed to locate captions and position the overlay.
- Domain and path locally to verify playback routes and block sensitive pages.
The extension does not request saved passwords, cookies, full browsing history, camera, microphone, local files, video, audio, or screenshots.
3. On-device edition
Subtitle text is processed through Chrome's on-device translation capability. This edition contains no external translation provider, API-key feature, or Local Bridge.
4. Full edition
On-device translation is the default. An optional translation service is used only after the user selects it, accepts a separate disclosure, grants its fixed host permission, and supplies their own credentials. Requests contain subtitle text, language parameters, and provider authentication required to perform translation. They do not contain page URL, video title, account data, cookies, audio, video, screenshots, or viewing history. Requests go directly to the selected provider, not through a server operated by 4H3D BDW.
5. Community edition and Local Bridge
Community contains Chrome on-device translation and an optional separately installed Local Bridge fixed to 127.0.0.1. Pairing is user initiated, operational tokens are short lived, and only subtitle text and language parameters are sent to the paired local service. The bridge exposes no file, shell, command, upload, URL-fetch, or model-install HTTP endpoint.
6. API keys and secrets
API keys are never stored in Chrome Sync. Session storage is the default. Optional persistent storage encrypts each key locally. The passphrase is not stored and is required after browser restart. Community bridge client secrets are stored locally and are not synchronized; session tokens are session-only.
7. Other storage
Settings, appearance, language choices, consent state, platform access preferences, and vocabulary entries explicitly saved by the user may be stored. Non-sensitive settings and vocabulary may use Chrome Sync. Active subtitle lines and translation cache entries are temporary and are not maintained as viewing history.
8. Security controls
Manifest V3 and packaged code only; no remote executable code, advertising, or analytics. Sensitive routes are blocked, a visible video player is required, and processing is suspended when visible password, one-time-code, or payment-card fields appear. Password-manager applications are not disabled or modified.
9. Sharing, sale, and profiling
4H3D BDW does not receive or sell subtitle text, API keys, browsing history, account data, or payment data. User data is not used for personalized advertising, creditworthiness, unrelated profiling, or human review except with explicit support consent or where required for security or law.
10. User controls
Users can switch to on-device translation, revoke platform or provider permission, delete keys and encrypted vaults, clear vocabulary and cache, remove Local Bridge pairing, or uninstall the extension.
